New Menu Navigation Concept

An exclusive Xenium feature is the new user interface that makes operation much easier than that of conventional mobile phones. As phones become smaller and more feature-rich, user interaction becomes increasingly important for usability. To answer this need, Philips developed an exciting new user interface concept with a large, graphic LCD window and a real voice command capability. But the most striking feature is undoubtedly the unique carousel concept, which allows intuitive, one-finger navigation through the menus by using the new Pilot key. Self-explanatory smart icons help to identify the location in the menus, and all symbols are shown in an internationally understandable graphical form for easy, language-independent use.

This not only speeds and simplifies operation, it also enhances safety during in-car use of the mobile phone. As well as dialling, Xenium also recognizes and executes commands from the user, for example to select specific phone functions, and a voice car kit is optionally available to maximize driving safety.

Xenium sets itself apart from other mobile phones additionally with its unique style and finishing. Most distinctive of all is the blue display backlight, which gives the phone a striking quality and a fresh, new look. The phone reflects the owner’s taste with a choice of three sophisticated metallic colour finishes – Fantom, Pelican and Silver Blue.
